Welcome to The Science School!
A Second Life Learning Environment

It is the mission of The Science School to further science learning by promoting interest in science, particularly in the physical sciences and astronomy, creating an environment to enrich distant learning programs, and to develop the assessment tools for Second Life utilization by which student learning and retention can be measured and compared with conventional classroom environments.

In August, 2007 we got a grant from the NRC for some multiple courses involving Nuclear Physics and Environmental Impact Assesments. There will initially be about 5 online courses in Second Life, thru the University of Denver’s University College.

Also, check out Roger Amdahl’s Astronomy exhibit on Science School.

To Join Second Life, you can register at the Scilands Site and it will take you directly to the SciLands Orientation Island.
